I'm Sara Sáez, and for years I've been observing the world through a camera, trying to capture what sometimes goes unnoticed. I don't just photograph people, streets, or scenes. For me, photography is the search for what goes unsaid: what happens on the margins, in gazes that don't meet the camera, in fleeting gestures, in stories that aren't fully told.

My photographic project, Unclaimed Portraits, was born precisely from that desire to capture moments that seem unimportant, but which, deep down, are everything. They are nameless portraits, moments stolen from time, fragments of reality that perhaps no one ever thought to preserve. I am interested in the beauty of the spontaneous, the imperfect, the real. I am interested in observing without interrupting. Documenting without altering.

Besides photography, I work in the audiovisual world, a blend of technique, coordination, and creativity. I've been a stage manager, assistant director, and camera operator on various productions, including projects for RTVE (Spanish National Television). I've also worked on sets, filming, events, and in the most invisible part of the process: post-production. All of this has given me a more comprehensive view of the industry, but it has also reinforced my belief that what truly motivates me is what happens off-script. What no one was planning. What simply unfolds.

My camera becomes an excuse to look more intently. To better understand the place I occupy and the lives that intersect with mine, even if only for a second. I'm not interested in the perfect photo. I'm interested in the photo that breathes, that hurts a little, that seems about to say something… but remains silent.

This space is a meeting point. A collection of moments that, perhaps, someone will recognize as their own.
